The Town Clerk’s office records and maintains all documents pertaining to property transactions for the Town of Litchfield. Records date back to the early 1700’s and are available to the public. We do not have the staffing to do title searching.
In Connecticut we do not have County recording of Land Records. Each town has its own records. Land Records are filed in the TOWN/CITY where the property is located.
Our office has two public access computers with the grantor and grantee indexes dating back to 1981. Earlier indexes are in book form. In-house copies may be printed at a cost of $1.00 per page.
Our Land Records are online by
clicking here and following the prompts. The index and document images are available back to 1981. Documents on-line may be viewed for no charge or printed at a cost of $2.00 per page.
