The Town Clerk’s Office is open for official and emergency business and by appointment only. Call the office between the hours of 9 am and 4:30 pm at 860-567-7561 or contact us by email at townclerk@townoflitchfield.org.

Recordings will be accepted by mail or in person by appointment.

The Land Records for the Town of Litchfield are available online back to 1981 via uslandrecords.com.  We will not do title searching.  Access to our vault or to public access in house computers will be limited to one person at a time.  Signing in with contact information will be required.

In Connecticut we do not have county records, each town/city must be contacted directly.  Please do not set us recordings for property in another town.

We do not have Judicial Records such as divorce decrees in this office, you must contact the Litchfield Superior Court at 860-626-2300 for those documents.

Applications for Absentee Ballots for the Primaries can be found on our Town Website under the Department of the Town Clerk or from the Secretary of the State at portal.ct.gov/sots/election-services.  Applications must be printed in full with no wording absent and mailed to Town Clerk, PO Box 488, Litchfield, CT 06759.

Hunting and Fishing licenses can be obtained online at the DEEP website.
