Mission Statement
Our mission is to pursue codes, standards and engineering practices that enhance fire safety in our homes and workplace and to enforce existing regulations.
This objective will lead to a reduction of fires and it's devastation upon our community.
Our educational goals are to provide an ongoing process whereby fire safety education will be delivered, reinforced and sustained in schools, business, and civic groups alike. Results of performance should be measurable and attainable for optimum results.
We further resolve to provide fire safety education to the citizens of the Town of Litchfield which embrace our overall mission.
The Litchfield Fire Marshals Office provides the following services to the citizens of Litchfield. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am – 4:00p.m.
- Fire inspections of all commercial properties
- Fire Safety Plan Reviews
- Inspection of Oil Tank Removals
- Issue Blasting Permits
- Regulate Open Burning Permits (Issued thru First Selectman’s Office)
- Public Education services
- Fire investigations
- Complaint investigations
